Relational forest therapy experiences for
individuals, schools and organisations.
Forest Bathing began in Japan as a way to reconnect with nature and ease modern stress. At ROOTING, we offer Relational Forest Therapy in Singapore, a guided nature based experience grounded in presence, reciprocity, and embodied awareness.
While many forest bathing programmes focus on the benefits nature provides for human health, our approach centres on relationship. We meet the land as a living presence rather than a resource. Through gently guided sensory invitations, participants are supported to slow down, step out of constant thinking, and return to their senses.
Each session unfolds at a natural pace in parks and green spaces across Singapore. In this shared space of stillness, clarity and grounding often emerge.
ROOTING offers forest therapy experiences for individuals, schools, and corporate wellness programmes in Singapore.
This is not about escaping life.
It is about returning to it, rooted and aware.
To support participants in reconnecting with nature and their own well-being through mindful walking, sensory invitations, and shared reflections in nature in their own ways.

Time alone in nature can be restorative. A guide helps deepen the experience by holding a gentle structure that supports you in slowing down and noticing more fully.
At ROOTING, I follow the ANFT's Way of the Guide. I am not here as a therapist or teacher, but as a fellow presence, offering simple sensory invitations that allow nature itself to guide your experience.
Through this shared space, many find it easier to settle, reconnect, and experience nature, and themselves, in a more meaningful way.
Forest Bathing is a slow, guided nature-based experience that supports rest, reflection, and connection through the senses.
It is not a hike, fitness activity, nature tour, or plant identification walk. Participants are guided through simple invitations such as slowing down, noticing with the senses, resting in one spot, and sharing reflections if they feel comfortable.
At ROOTING, our Forest Bathing sessions are gentle, accessible, and designed to help people pause from their usual pace and reconnect with themselves, others, and the natural world.
No. Forest Bathing is designed to be slow and accessible.
Participants do not need hiking experience, fitness ability, or prior interest in nature. The walk usually covers a short distance at a very gentle pace, with pauses along the way.
We can also adapt the pace and route for different groups, including staff teams, students, seniors, and participants who may prefer a calmer or more supported experience.
A typical session includes:
A gentle introduction and safety briefing.
Slow guided walking.
Sensory-based invitations.
Quiet time for noticing and reflection.
Optional sharing circles.
A simple closing, often with tea or a nature-based reflection.
The experience is structured, but not rushed. Participants are encouraged to engage in a way that feels comfortable for them.
No. Forest Bathing is not psychotherapy, counselling, or medical treatment.
It is a guided well-being practice that supports rest, self-awareness, emotional regulation, and connection through nature. While many people find the experience calming and meaningful, it should not be treated as a replacement for professional mental health care.
Forest Bathing sessions are usually around 2 to 3 hours.
Shorter well-being pauses or customised formats may also be possible, depending on your needs.
Forest Bathing sessions are usually held in accessible green spaces such as parks, gardens, or nature-based public spaces.
For organisations and schools, sessions can sometimes be conducted at your venue if there is a suitable space.
Participants should wear comfortable clothing and footwear suitable for light outdoor movement.
For outdoor sessions, we recommend bringing:
Water bottle.
Sun protection such as a cap or sunscreen.
Umbrella or raincoat if needed.
A small towel or change of clothes if rain is expected.
Insect repellent if preferred.
Sitting mats.
Light rain does not always mean the session has to be cancelled. Some sessions can continue with suitable rain protection, depending on the venue and safety conditions.
However, in the event of lightning, heavy rain, unsafe ground conditions, or official weather warnings, the session may be adjusted, moved to shelter, postponed, or replaced with a wet-weather version where possible.
Safety comes first.
No. Sharing is always optional.
Participants are invited to share only what they are comfortable sharing. They may also choose to pass, share briefly, or participate quietly.
ROOTING aims to create a gentle and respectful space, not a forced sharing environment.
Yes, ROOTING may run public Forest Bathing or nature-based sessions from time to time.
Public sessions are usually announced through ROOTING’s website, Instagram, or event links when available. If there are no upcoming public dates listed, you may still enquire about a private session for your group, organisation, school, or community.
