Beginning near Labrador MRT, we will move slowly from the sounds of the city towards forest and coast, noticing how the soundscape shifts along the way.
Rather than searching for silence or trying to identify everything we hear, this Sound Walk invites us simply to listen: to ourselves, to nearby sounds, to distant sounds, and to the wider soundscape around us.
It is a chance to experience a familiar part of Singapore through a different sense.
A Sound Walk is an invitation to experience a place through listening.
As we move slowly and quietly through the landscape, attention gradually shifts from the sounds we make ourselves, to sounds nearby, sounds in the distance, and eventually to the wider soundscape.
The intention is not to identify every bird, insect or mechanical sound. We simply notice what is here.
This is consistent with the approach you were trained in: Sound Walks centre direct listening rather than identification or interpretation.
During much of the walk, we will move slowly and in silence, leaving some space between one another.
There will be several pauses along the route as the soundscape changes, with simple invitations to listen in different ways.
At the end, we will gather for a short period of reflection and optional sharing.
You do not need any previous experience with Forest Bathing, mindfulness or Sound Walks.
This is a point-to-point walk of approximately 2โ2.5 km, beginning at Labrador MRT Station and finishing within Labrador Nature Park.
The route moves through different environments, from the more urban sounds around the MRT station and road towards forested areas and the coast.
Expect a mixture of natural and human-made sounds. Traffic, construction, boats, people, birds, insects, wind and water may all become part of what we encounter.
๐ฃThe route includes slopes and stairs and may not be suitable for participants who require a fully step-free route.

This Sound Walk is part of the International Forest Bathing & Soundwalk Weekend, taking place around the world on 12 & 13 September 2026.
The weekend is a collaboration between the Association of Nature and Forest Therapy (ANFT) and Quiet Parks International, bringing together local Forest Bathing experiences and Sound Walks as a shared invitation to slow down, listen and reconnect with the living world.
